Certificate of Conformity: Do Your Bearings Meet the Required Standards?

Written by Dean Payne | Jan 20, 2022 10:00:00 AM

At BDS, we certify that bearings shipped against an order meet specifications and tolerances that apply to the specific bearing and its applications.

This article covers the purpose of a C of C, being ISO certified, as well as traceability in manufacturing and other areas.

Certificate of Conformance to Meet Required Standards or Specifications

A Certificate of Conformance states that the product meets the required standards of the manufactured product.

An example of this standard is ISO 9001:2015. ISO certified means that an organization has met, developed, maintained, and improves its business process.

ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization:

"Needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and

Aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements."

ISO quality and standard focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations and needs. This ensures thorough inventory and quality control of bearings sold, and on the side of manufacturing, improved quality of production standards increases customer satisfaction. BDS/BMC has achieved ISO 9001:2015

The certification helps establish and build trust with manufacturers and customers
alike. We believe quality is essential, and upholding standards builds confidence
with our customers.

What's included in the Certificate of Conformance? . . .

1. Product Identification

2. Identification (Bearing Type, Manufacturer, Country of Origin)

3. Regulations and Standards (When applicable)

4. Date code (Manufacture, and expiration, when applicable)

5. Additional specifications and process

Traceability Essential in Bearings Manufacturing

For any manufacturer, traceability is critical.

We often get the question, "Can you offer traceability?"

At BDS, we offer our company C of C with all shipments upon request. Manufacturers and Government trace is available in certain situations.

Traceability has benefits. It Increases supply chain visibility, improves quality control,
and reduces risk by its quality control and processes.

We understand the importance of traceability, and in cases where it is not available
on out of production, or not provided upon excess purchases, we offer our quality
inspection against the manufacturers' prints to provide the quality, and verification
that it meets its specified standards before shipping to our customers.
